Campaigning for a London we can build a life in

A Londoner who is ambitious for a city where what you put in, you get back, and a city where people feel they can get things done.

Entrepreneur, former Police and Crime Commissioner, and current Westminster City Councillor for Abbey Road Ward.

Something is being built for London. Watch this space.

London should be a city that works. A city that's home.

Working hard used to be enough to build a life in London. For too many Londoners, it no longer is. Families and young people fear they will have to leave the city they call home. This is not inevitable.

Ours must be a city that rewards effort, supports aspiration, and truly feels like home. Change is possible.

i. The story

I've lived this

Arrived in England from Nigeria aged 13. Built a business from my family's council flat in Canning Town, East London. I worked hard, played by the rules, and still had to leave London at 23 to start and raise my family. The city that was home, had become a city I couldn't afford to stay in.

More than twenty years later, I was fortunate enough to come back. But today, the challenge facing young Londoners now as I was back then - is far worse. Most who leave never return. Too many Londoners now believe their own children won't get the chance to build a life here at all. This is not inevitable. Change is possible.

That belief is what took me from business into public service: onto the frontline as a Special Constable, then getting elected as Police and Crime Commissioner in 2021. Today, I serve in the heart of our capital as a Westminster City Councillor representing Abbey Road Ward, and I'm looking firmly ahead.

"The city that was home had become a city I couldn't afford to stay in."
